SMS Privacy Notice. Tom Folsom's Household Automation collects mobile phone numbers and messaging consent only from recipients who expressly opt in to receive its automated household notifications. Mobile phone numbers and messaging consent are used only to provide the SMS messaging service.
We do not share, sell, or provide mobile phone numbers or messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Mobile information may be provided to service providers, including Twilio and mobile carriers, only as necessary to deliver the SMS messaging service.
About this application. Tom Folsom's Household Automation is a private, non-commercial scheduling and notification application, built and operated by one person. It sends an automated daily schedule-and-weather summary by text message to two adult recipients who consented in advance. No one else can sign up, and nothing is collected from visitors to this website.
Tom Folsom's Household Automation is built and operated by Tom Folsom as a personal, non-commercial project. It is not a product, and it is not offered to the public. There is no signup form, no customer account system, and no way for a member of the public to subscribe.
Messages are generated and sent entirely by software on a fixed schedule. No person composes or sends any individual message.
The application handles a deliberately small amount of information:
No information whatsoever is collected from visitors to this website. There are no analytics, no advertising trackers, and no cookies set by these pages.
Digest content is assembled from services the household already uses and has authorized:
No mobile phone number, consent record, or other recipient information is ever transmitted to any of these services.
Mobile phone numbers are used for exactly one purpose: delivering the automated messages described in this policy to the recipients who consented to receive them.
Phone numbers are used only to deliver the automated messages described in this policy. They are not used for marketing, advertising, analytics, or profiling.
The following disclosures apply to the SMS messaging program covered by this policy:
Full program terms are published at /sms-terms, including the verbatim script used to obtain consent.
No mobile information, including mobile phone numbers and messaging opt-in data or consent, is shared, sold, or provided to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Mobile phone numbers are used solely to provide the messaging service described above. Mobile information may be disclosed to service providers, including Twilio and mobile carriers, only as necessary to transmit and deliver messages. Such service providers do not receive mobile information for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
Twilio handles this information under its own privacy policy at twilio.com/legal/privacy.
Information may also be disclosed if required by law.
The application keeps no separate database of recipients or message history. Mobile phone numbers exist only in the operator's private application configuration and remain there until removed. Message delivery records are retained by Twilio according to Twilio's own retention practices.
Access credentials are stored as private environment variables on the operator's own machine and are not committed to any public code repository. Messages are transmitted to Twilio over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
Plainly stated: standard SMS is not an encrypted medium, and no system is perfectly secure. Accordingly, message content is limited to routine household scheduling information and deliberately excludes financial details, account credentials, medical information, and similarly sensitive material.
Any recipient can stop all messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. Opt-out is honored immediately and permanently unless that person later asks to be re-added. Replying HELP returns contact information.
A recipient may also ask the operator directly to remove their number, or to confirm what information is held about them.
Messages are sent only to adults. This application is not directed to children, and no information about children is knowingly collected through it.

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. This page is the single, authoritative privacy policy for Tom Folsom's Household Automation.
